Most homes in Clearwater have a patio or other outdoor living space. Have you thought about planning and finishing your outdoor living space with a kitchen or screening it in to avoid bugs? If you want to spend more time outside or enhance your outdoor entertainment area, here are some ideas.
Having an outdoor kitchen is an enjoyable way to entertain. You and your guests can relax by the pool or on the patio without leaving someone inside cooking. An outdoor kitchen can be as simple or elaborate as your budget and space allow. At a minimum you need space for a grill and ideally and outdoor refrigerator. If you have a lot of space, a popular feature is a pizza oven. Some homeowners add in ice maker, sink, and warming drawer or even space for a keg. Add a natural stone countertop and you’ll have space to prepare and serve your dishes.
If you’re entertaining outside, you’ll want a place to eat and drink. For some people the right solution is a bar and for others it’s space for a table. With the hot Florida sun, you might want to add a patio cover over your eating area if you don’t have one already. Some options are a permanent roof, pergola, or an awning. Just remember that with our winds, you should spend a little more for a retractable awning so it doesn’t get torn up the next time a storm comes through.
Fireplace or Firepit
Depending on your neighborhood and city regulations, you might be able to add a firepit or fireplace to your patio. They’re great year-round for toasting marshmallows or just relaxing around during the cool winter evenings. If you choose a firepit, make sure that you are more than ten feet from all buildings. Most code requires ten feet from your property line as well.
